First Winter Route to Munich

First Winter Route to Munich Launched

Today, Zadar Airport officially marked the introduction of regular international flights operated by Croatia Airlines on the new winter route Zadar – Munich.

On this occasion, the first passengers arriving from Munich to Zadar were welcomed, followed by the departure of passengers on the inaugural flight from Zadar to Munich. To celebrate the launch of the new route, all passengers on today’s flights (OU4674 Munich – Zadar and OU4675 Zadar – Munich) received a €20 voucher, which can be used when purchasing an airline ticket for their next journey with Croatia Airlines.

Until mid-January 2024, the national carrier’s aircraft will connect Zadar and Munich twice a week – on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The flights will be operated by Dash 8-Q400 aircraft with a capacity of 76 seats, and passengers can purchase return tickets on the website www.croatiaairlines.hr starting from EUR 162.

Marija Pavić, Sales Manager at Croatia Airlines, stated at today’s ceremony:

“We are pleased that, in cooperation with the Zadar County Tourist Board, the Zadar Tourist Board, and Zadar Airport, we have established this new route, thus offering passengers from this region a direct air connection to Europe during the winter period. I believe that passengers will take advantage of these new travel opportunities and that this joint product will contribute to the development of the tourist potential of Zadar County and to even more successful business operations at Zadar Airport.”

Josip Klišmanić, Director of Zadar Airport, emphasized:

“Expanding the network of destinations in the winter flight schedule is a strategic goal of Zadar Airport. We are extremely pleased that our national airline Croatia Airlines and the County Tourist Board are providing significant support in this direction. We hope that the introduction of the Zadar – Munich route in the winter schedule is just the beginning of achieving this goal.”

Mihaela Kadija, Director of the Zadar County Tourist Board, added:

“We express great satisfaction and extend our warmest welcome to the introduction of the winter international air route Zadar – Munich, with the hope that it will become a year-round service as early as next season. The Zadar County Tourist Board is continuously working to attract visitors outside the peak tourist months, and this is an important step towards the further development of year-round tourism. The introduction of this route represents a major incentive and an important factor in the significant growth of business travel, the so-called MICE segment, in which Zadar County is building increasing potential, especially with announcements of new major hotel capacities and the construction of conference facilities.”

In the 2023/2024 winter flight schedule, Croatia Airlines plans to increase the total number of flights by almost 12% and offer 13.6% more seats compared to the winter period of 2022/2023. The company’s aircraft will directly connect Croatia with 13 international destinations across a total of 19 international routes.
