Passengers may stay for up to 3 hours before their flight.

1. Declaration of Goods

If you are bringing into or taking out goods subject to customs control (e.g. larger quantities of alcohol, tobacco, cash, technical equipment, luxury items, food, or medicines), you are required to declare them to the customs authorities immediately upon arrival at the airport.

Where to declare?
At the customs counter in the arrivals area (or in the departures area for export), immediately after passport control. At Zadar Airport, the customs service is located within the terminal and is clearly marked.

When?
Immediately upon entering the country (or upon departure if you are taking goods out of the EU).

2. Green and Red Channels

Green Channel:
If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel (for personal luggage within the permitted allowances).

Red Channel:
If you have goods that must be declared, use the red channel and contact a customs officer.

3. Documentation

Prepare the following:

  • Receipts or invoices for the goods

  • Passport or ID card

  • Additional permits if the goods require special authorization (e.g. medicines, weapons, antiques)

 
 

4. Payment of Customs Duties and Taxes

Customs duties and VAT may be charged on goods if:

  • They exceed the permitted personal allowances

  • They are considered goods of a commercial nature

In such cases, the goods are cleared according to the applicable tariffs, and the passenger may pay the amount on the spot.

5. Prohibitions and Restrictions

It is prohibited to import or export without authorization:

  • Drugs and narcotic substances

  • Firearms and ammunition

  • Protected plant and animal species (CITES)

  • Large quantities of medicines or food
